Security plays a vital role in achieving business agility;
agility necessary to enable enterprises to re-imagine
IT. Security is now at a divide where it can continue
trying to solve new challenges with old approaches
and end up in a dead end or it can choose a new

Traditional security looks on IT-security as
Hadrian did when Hadrian’s wall was constructed.
Firewall, NAC and VPN are all Hadrian’s wall like
approaches to security; build a strong defense at the
perimeter. But, the perimeter is ever changing and
the business needs are driving this. But with changed
perimeters new security challenges arise, challenges
that will constantly evolve and challenges that are
best addressed with agility.
Traditional security solutions have been designed
with the Hadrian’s wall approach independently of
the context it should support, which leads to solutions
that are to difficult to use or solutions that
makes the context difficult to use. Today’s end-users
always find a way around things that are difficult to
use and they will only embrace solutions that either
make their day better or delivers enough value to
them.
