In a typical corporate IT environment, users own a number of credentials, like passwords, company cards, VPN software certificates and so on, which are issued and withdrawn by the IT department. IT will again be involved in emergency cases, such as when a password or card PIN is forgotten, a card is lost or left at home, a card is blocked or a certificate expires. Such events are a considerable and stressful burden for the IT department, and cause loss of working time for the credential owner. Security measures will ultimately suffer from low acceptance and will be bypassed if possible, such as by using weak passwords or sharing the same password among several applications.
"Nexus is continuously working on products that strengthen IT security and stand out for their excellent usability, while at the same time helping reduce operating costs and enabling cost-efficient business processes. We are now working on a new product: Credo Credential Manager," says Tamás Horváth, Product Manager. "Credo will provide organisations a central tool for the lifecycle management of users’ various credentials, including passwords, smart cards and PKI tokens."
Nexus Credo Credential Manager will be available in the first half of 2010. Read more …
