Ethics Policy

Nexus' core business is security. Let us explain the meaning of this for us from an ethical perspective:

We collaborate closely with our clients. Our field of operation extends right over the globe, with all that is entailed in relation to different countries’ widely diversifying laws and regulations on questions of security.
The expertise that we possess in the field of security is considerable, and with this comes much responsibility: of ultimately supplying secure solutions but also, prior to that, the responsibility in each and every situation of making the right choices in everything from product and service development to day-to-day decisions in individual projects.
Nexus therefore rests in the knowledge that its employees are able to make exactly the right decisions at exactly the right moment.
For this to work properly in reality, clear guidelines must exist, but our ambition is for the entire organisation to be instilled with trust.

Trust develops from mutual respect, clear-cut roles and distinct structures with regard to responsibilities and rights.

To give our employees the support necessary in order to make the right decisions at the right time, our ambition is to inform, educate and conduct a dialogue on our ideas about good professionalism, good business ethics and good corporate culture. This is realised through for example, our internal training programme.

Our ethics policy adheres to the following principles:

  • Nexus shall comply with such legislation and rules that apply on the local markets on which we operate.
  • Nexus shall comply with such ethical rules for business activities, marketing and advertising that apply on the local markets on which we operate.
  • Nexus’ activities shall support and comply with the ethical decisions and policies according to which the client works.
  • Nexus shall act so that its solutions are in no way made available for businesses that run illegal or unethical operations.
  • Nexus shall support the reporting of crime insofar as proof or clear indications exist.
  • Nexus shall support and promote the highest quality and security with regard to the products and services of customers, principals, suppliers and partners.
  • Nexus shall respect and promote civil and political rights.
  • Nexus shall not pay or receive bribes of any kind.
  • Nexus shall provide its employees with a safe, healthy work environment.
  • Nexus shall take responsibility for protecting the individual’s right to personal integrity in respect both of Nexus' own employees and of external contacts.
  • Nexus’ ethics policy is based partly on the international norms drawn up by the UN Convention, for example: (excerpt from the UN Norms for Business, the UN Norm)

The UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights
The UN’s Convention on the Rights of the Child (the Child Convention)
The ILO’s conventions and recommendations
The Rio Declaration on Environment and Development
The UN’s Convention on Biological Diversity
The OECD’s Anti-Bribery Convention
