gematik (Gesellschaft für Telematikanwendungen der Gesundheitskarte mbH) is the German organization to prepare the upcoming projects of the eGK (electronic healthcare card). Their concepts and processes define mainly the future PKI infrastructure for the German insurance organizations for all German citizens.
Needs & Benefits
For comparing certificate formats, On-line protocols etc., gematik has set up its own referents PKI system based on Nexus standard products. The system consists of a CA (Nexus Certificate Manager) for issuing of certificates of different formats (X.509, CVC, CA- und end-user’s certificates) and a OCSP responder (Nexus CM OCSP or Nexus Servant OCSP as Proxy) for different clients, which has been configured to meet the gematik specifications for technical requirements on certificates and OCSP protocol and is operated by gematik. The system corresponds to the gematik eGK specification release 2.2.0 and is actively used. The OCSP responder is available for the member organisations.
