BBS, Bankernas Betalnings Sentral, Norway is an IT based knowledge company and a leading provider of electronic ID, payment and information solutions. Since being established in 1972, BBS has achieved a central role as an operating place for the banks’ common operational payment infrastructure in Norway, currently distinguished as a separate company in BBS Infrastruktur AS. The solutions developed by BBS and the banks have led to Norway being of a world class standard as regards payment by card, electronic invoicing and ID solutions.
Banks and financial institutions are primarily the most important customer groups, but the competence and experience that BBS has worked up through processes to improve efficiency are also used for customers in other industries and markets within the public and private sectors.
